Easter

So far things have been going pretty well. Easter was two days ago, which was a nice time to visit home. I went home Sunday morning and stayed at home until about 7:00. I have not been home in a while. It was really nice to go visit my parents and relax at home. Nothing is better than some home made cooking.  I have missed my parent's cooking. At school, I either eat out, eat on campus, or cook my own food. My parents made a delicious dinner. I was stuffed after dinner and even had some food to bring back to school.

While I was at home, I was able to get a lot of my homework done. It is so much easier to focus on schoolwork at my house. I was able to study for a quiz and wrote a paper for my English class. I brought my dog home too. Both of my parents love my dog. They always want me to bring her, when I come and visit. Since I have a fence around my whole backyard, my dog is able to run around wherever she wants. This helps me not having to worry about her wondering off somewhere she is not suppose to be. At my house at school, there is no fence and sometimes she goes off running in the woods.

I am very excited for this upcoming weekend. This Saturday is the Salisbury game. Salisbury is a big conference rival for us. This is the biggest game for us every year. Everybody always looks forward to this game. The game atmosphere is insane. Everyone is pumped up and excited to play this game. In the past years, the games have been very close. I am very excited to play against Salisbury. We don't like them and they don't like us. This game is going to be very fun to watch.

summer is coming

School is slowly dwindling down. It is almost summer and I cannot wait. There is nothing wrong with school, but the amount of free time that is available during the summer is awesome. I need a nice long break from school. I do not usually do anything crazy during the summer. I usually spent my summers at home, but last year I spent the majority of the summer here in Owings Mills. I had an internship with one of my teachers and at a location in Baltimore. It was easier for me to live over here during the summer, instead of commute from home. It only would of been a 45 minute drive, but the amount of gas would of started to build up after a while.

I am going to try and spend more time at home this summer. I did not get to hang out with my friends from home as much as planned, so I want to make changes this summer. I will be participating in another internship this summer in the Baltimore area; however, I am going to spend more time at home. I am going to spend periods of time up here in Owings Mills, but then go home for a longer period of time.

I do not have any vacations planned for this summer. I am going to make a few trips down to Ocean City, MD. A lot of my friends go down there and a good amount of them live there during the summer. I would never really want to live at the beach. I don't see the point of working at the beach, just to make enough money to live there. Then after the summer, you really don't have a large portion of money left over, because you had to spend it on living costs at the beach. I would rather make trips down there and spend a whole lot less of money. This way I can still have fun, and get my priorities taken care of during the summer. Even though the end of the semester can be pretty tough, it is nice to know that summer is right around the corner.

back to school

Spring break is over. I had an alright break. I did not go to anywhere warm or to the beach. I spent my break at school. We played three games over the course of the break. My days consisted of hanging out around my house and going to practice. Once practice was over, I would come home and find something to do with my friends. It would be pretty cool if the lacrosse team took a trip to somewhere really warm and with beaches.

This warm weather makes me what summer badly. I am ready for school to be over. Half of a semester to go and I will be onto my senior year. It is pretty crazy how time flies. I can remember my freshman and sophomore years, like it was yesterday. Soon enough, I will be a senior and will be graduating . I did very well for my midterms, so that made me feel very assured. This semester has been going very well. I have had no problems in any of my classes. The workload has not been too bad. I wrote two papers last night, but that was the most work I have had so far. I could of done some work during spring break, but I really was not trying to do homework during my free time.

I am going to have to get ready to make a new schedule for next semester. I am not sure what courses I will be taking. I might take a heavier load in the fall, so in the spring, I can take a very light load. It would be pretty sweet to only have three classes for a semester. I would have so much more free time, but that free time would be used properly. Even though, the course load would be lighter, I am going to be very busy dealing with my plans for after college. I hope this semester continues to go by smoothly and I finish strong.

Spring break

Im pretty excited for spring break. Technically, I really don't have a spring break, because I have to stay at school for lacrosse. So instead of going somewhere warm, I have to play lacrosse everyday. It will be fun though. We play our first away game this weekend against Lynchburg. Away games are pretty fun trips, but this is going to be a pretty long drive. I think it takes somewhere between 4-5 hours to get there. We are leaving on Friday, but the game is on Saturday. Once we arrive to our destination, we have practice at the University of Virginia. Then we will most likely go eat somewhere, then go to the hotel.

It's very exciting to play at Lynchburg. I played at Lynchburg my freshman year. The atmosphere during the game is crazy. Its a big game for anyone to play against Stevenson. So many fans from Lynchburg show up to the game. They have a really sweet set up around their turf field. They have a decently nice stadium, but the sweet part is the dorms. They have a bunch of dorms literally right on the other side of the field. There are people all over just screaming and shouting. The game atmosphere is so intense. My freshman year, we were down by a lot, but came back at the end and won. Saturday's game will hopefully be just as exciting and intense. I am looking forward to playing against this team.

We are most likely going to get back home very late Saturday night. Hopefully, there will be some good movies playing on the bus. I will most likely be sleeping on the way back. The trip is way to long. The nice thing about spring break is that I can go home and visit my parents. I don't live to far away from home. It will be nice to get a nice home-cooked meal.

a little update

So far, things have been going pretty well. My birthday was on Sunday (2/26). I recently turned 21 years old. I am very excited about finally becoming this age. I went down to Fed Hill, with a bunch of my friends, to go drink at the bars. I went Saturday night, but by the time we made it there, it was already 12:00 a.m. I had a great time. We took a shuttle down there, which costed $20 a person. This was a very good deal, because a taxi from my house to Fed Hill would cost a good sum of money. The shuttle driver must of made bank. The shuttle held around 31 passengers, so he made around $600.

Another good thing that happened during the weekend, was my team won our second game. We played against Hampden-Sydney College. We just squeezed by with a win against this team. We are going to have to play a lot better for the game this upcoming weekend. This weekend we play Western New England College. We played them last year and won, but this is a new year. As long as we have a good week of practice, we should be prepared enough for Saturday.

School has been going well. I have been keeping up with all my schoolwork. I've been enjoying all my classes. Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually my busy days, because I have three classes in a row. My Mondays and Wednesdays are pretty easy. I only have two classes on those days and my first class does not star until noon. I always look forward to sleeping in a bit. The one positive about my Tuesday and Thursday classes is that I get finished by 1:30. I am going to schedule next semester like this current semester, so I can get all my classes done earlier in the day.

getting busy

So I have been pretty busy lately. Im starting to get a good amount of work to do in my classes. My religion class has been keeping me very busy. I had to write two papers for the class this week. I had one test this week. I haven't really had too many tests this semester.

The lacrosse season has finally started. We won our first home game last Saturday. We have another home game this Saturday. Lacrosse practice has been going well. The practices have been getting a little shorter, so its nice to get out a little earlier. This way I have more time to get my homework done, then I can relax. Today was a really nice day out. It was very warm out during my practice. I hope it stays warm all week. I enjoy playing in the warm weather over the cold. I really hope it starts getting warm soon. The weather has been so strange lately. One day its freezing cold, then the next day is nice and warm. I think a few days ago, it was suppose to snow, but it ended up being a decently nice day. Hopefully my work load lightens up, so I can go relax outside if its warm.

so far...

This week has been pretty good so far. School has been going well. The homework load has not been too bad. For some reason, this semester seems a little easier then last semester. It could be due to the fact that I am taking easier classes, but who knows. Last semester, it seemed like I had homework all the time and tests or papers due every weekend. I hope this semester doesn't turn out like last semester. I am enjoying the light work load, especially with lacrosse practice in my schedule.

Lacrosse has been going well. The first game is this Saturday against Haverford College. I am very excited to start playing lacrosse games. Preseason is always pretty tough, due to conditioning and practice. When the season actually starts, the practices become much easier. It's going to be nice to know all the hard work paid off.

Tonight, I just saw the movie "Safe House". Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington starred in this movie. I thought the movie was very good. It was very action packed. The whole story line was good and kept me guessing what would happen. Hopefully, this week will continue to go well.

Snow days

Well today was a little bit of a disappointment. It snowed a whole bunch today, but it didn't stick to the roads. I was hoping we would get a decent amount of snow. The worse part about the weather was that I had practice in the snow. During my practice, it continued to snow more and more. I was pretty soaked and cold after practice. Since practice was earlier today, I got out around 6ish. Usually, we don't get out till around 8.

It was nice to get out of practice earlier. I was able to relax after for a while. I hung out with a few friends, then just watched some t.v. Then I had some homework to do. Majority of my homework came from my Eng. 224 class, which was to write a fiction piece.

This weather has been very strange. It had been oddly warm sometimes. I could walk around outside in a short sleeved shirt, and its supposedly winter. This is one of the warmest winters I have experienced. Its usually cold everyday, but some days are rather warm. I feel like past years have been so much colder. I enjoy the times during the winter season, where it snows a whole bunch. It's nice to have a few days off from school. I really enjoy catching up on my sleep and relaxing all day. Hopefully, we will get a good snow storm sometime soon.

February...

I wasn't very sure what to write about in this blog. There was a range of ideas that I could of approached, but none of them seemed to interesting to me. So I just decided to go with writing about whatever comes to mind.

I feel like this semester so far has been going by somewhat quickly. It is already February. My birthday is this month, so that is defiantly a bonus. Winter break does not feel like it was that long ago. Spring semesters seem to always go by pretty quickly for me. This could be due to the amount of activities that are going on in my life. During the day, school takes up majority of my time. Then around 4:30 I head to lacrosse practice. Practice tends to be about three hours, plus or minus. By the time I get home and showered, I have to eat dinner and start my homework. Once the homework is complete, then hang out till I go to bed. Then the cycle continues. I would say my days are fairly busy.

The fall semester seemed to go by pretty slowly. I had so much more free time after class, since I did not have a full semester of lacrosse. I would just go to class and then enjoy my free time. I didn't have to commit three hours of my day to lacrosse, but instead I had that free time to do whatever I pleased. Once games start, then the semester will really go by. Game start towards the end of February, so until then things will be a little slower.

a few facts

Hey everyone, my name is Sam Ramatowski. I thought I would start off by telling you some facts about myself. I am currently a junior at Stevenson University. I am a psychology major. I hope to be a therapist in the future; although, I am not completely sure exactly what type of therapist I would like to be. At first, I  wanted to work in drug addiction counseling; however, I think it would be a hard profession, due to the fact that is a large burnout rate. It would be hard to hear someone constantly say that they are going to quit using; even though, they are going to go back to it. So after hearing this, I thought it would be better to look into a different field.

I have lived in Maryland for the majority of my life. When I was younger, I lived in South Korea for a year. At the time, my father was still in the Air Force and my mother was from South Korea. My father was in the military for 25 years, and South Korea was the last place he was stationed before coming back to the states.

I went public school, until high school. I attended a private high school, where I played lacrosse. I wasn't a huge fan of going to a private school, but I guess it did a pretty good job preparing me for college. I'd say sports are a big part of my life. I currently play lacrosse at school. It defiantly takes a lot of my time, but it's worth it. I really enjoy watching football and hockey. I like basketball, but during the winter season, Sports Center always shows basketball highlights and it's kinda annoying.

Well there are a few facts about myself. Hopefully, I'll come up with some more interesting stuff to write.
